The course is delivered through a beautiful, user-friendly portal with modules set up for each month of pregnancy, plus some extra important tidbits like food safety and the postpartum days. There is a helpful 'search' function that covers the entire portal, allowing you to look up anything you have questions about at any point in your pregnancy. Within the modules, you'll find the education and resources delivered in easy-to-swallow bites made up of concise text with linked studies, downloadable PDFs (recipes! meal plans!), helpful graphics/visuals, and videos being added monthly.
When you purchase this course, you own it for life! It begins as soon as you enroll, and it's self-paced. The course has monthly tabs covering the journey of a typical nine month pregnancy, but you may find it more useful to implement the 'search' capability to look up anything you have questions about at any point in your pregnancy.
Yes! I love working with women in the preconception phase of their journey. If you are currently trying to conceive, or hoping to in the next several years, the resources in the course will be invaluable to you, especially if you're a planner! The majority of nutrients highlighted in pregnancy are just as important (if not more so!) leading up to conception. Preparing your body with proper nourishment is one of the best gifts you can give your future self and future children.
It is never too late to start optimizing your nutrition when pregnant. Your baby will welcome every last nutrient you can provide! There is a wealth of education provided on nutrition for labor, birth, and the fourth trimester, while also including protocols for various third trimester happenings (such as preparing for the GBS test). Beyond that, this course will continue to develop into many postpartum offerings and resources as well — not to mention the 70+ recipes in the program are perfectly nourishing for the fourth trimester as well.
When it comes to supplements, the highest quality can often mean the highest price, but not if you know what you're looking for and where to look (like I do!). You'll find throughout the program that I'm more interested in the forms the supplements come in, as well as their ingredients and any third party testing. In most cases, I will recommend 2-3 different brands that meet my (high!) standards, all at varying price points. There are also many cases where I am able to offer practitioner discounts to my clients for some of the most reputable supplement companies on the market today.
Each month offers approachable and easy recipes for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Within each module is also a week-long meal plan that includes these custom recipes in bold, as well as meal ideas repeated occasionally to make your life easier. These ideas are simple suggestions to give you an easy meal you can throw together in your own way, such as “a quinoa bowl with roasted veggies and grilled chicken.” The course teaches you how to choose ingredients and foods that will most benefit you and your growing baby, so no — you do not have to follow the meal plans. They are intended to be helpful guidance, not strict food rules.
All of the recipes created for this program use nutrient-dense, wholesome ingredients and have been developed to nourish the baby while also supporting the mother during pregnancy. Detailed nutritional information is included for each recipe. As the author of two anti-inflammatory cookbooks, the majority of recipes I create tend to be naturally gluten- and dairy-free, but this program does not strictly adhere to these labels. Options are given for common allergy concerns.
